Hi Neighbors,
As a California native, I know how deeply the events in our Golden State affect us all. From the earth’s tremors felt across the San Francisco Bay to Van Nuys, to the ongoing challenges of homelessness, especially among the brave Veterans who have served our country, we are no strangers to facing hardships together.
Wildfires have become an unfortunate reality of life in California, and 2025 has begun with devastating blazes that have displaced thousands of our fellow Californians. Currently, four fires are burning across our beautiful state, threatening homes, communities, and lives.
In these moments, it is more important than ever to come together as a community. Let us reach out to our loved ones, neighbors, friends, and even strangers. A simple act of kindness—like checking in, offering support, or lending a helping hand—can mean the world to someone in need.
Reflecting on the times when we’ve shared moments of care, like giving a neighbor a cup of sugar, reminds us of the strength and beauty of our community. These small gestures of compassion build the bonds that carry us through the most difficult days.
Together, as the resilient people of the Golden State, let us continue to love and uplift one another. My thoughts and prayers are with every Californian during this time.
